Who Is Eligible?
This service is intended for U.S. citizens by birth or naturalization who:
- Have never been issued a U.S. passport.
- Had their previous passport issued more than 15 years ago.
- No longer have possession of their expired passport.
- Have a current passport that is significantly damaged or mutilated.
Documents and Steps Required for a New U.S. Passport
1. Place Your New Passport Order
Begin by selecting and purchasing the New Passport service that meets your travel needs.
Expedited appointment availability is limited, and applications are handled according to when documents are received and the applicant’s upcoming travel date. To help avoid unnecessary delays, place your order and provide the required documents as early as possible.
If you are traveling within the next two weeks, select the 5–7 business day processing option and contact our office to confirm availability for expedited processing.
2. Complete the New Passport Application
Complete our New U.S. Passport application form to begin the process. Make sure all requested information is accurate before submitting it.
3. Visit a Passport Acceptance Facility
Step 1: Find a Passport Acceptance Facility Near You
New passport applicants may be required to appear in person at an authorized Passport Acceptance Facility. Use the USPS Passport Appointment Scheduler to locate a participating Post Office in your area and arrange an appointment.
Step 2: Meet With the Passport Acceptance Agent
During your appointment, the Acceptance Agent will:
- Witness you sign your passport application.
- Collect the required $35 execution fee.
- Review your identification.
- Verify the required supporting documents.
- Place the necessary documents into an official sealed envelope.
Step 3: Bring the Required Documents
Take all required documents with you to your appointment so the Acceptance Agent can review and seal the appropriate materials.
4. Contact Us Before Sending Your Documents
Once your documents are prepared, please call our office before mailing or submitting anything to us. We will help confirm that you have followed the correct process and have the necessary documents ready.
5. Passport Photo
Provide the required passport photo taken within the last six months. The photo must measure 2 x 2 inches and comply with applicable U.S. passport photo requirements. Eyeglasses should not be worn in the passport photo.
6. Proof of U.S. Citizenship
Provide an acceptable original document showing U.S. citizenship, such as:
- An original U.S. birth certificate, if born in the United States.
- A previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport.
Original documents will be returned after passport processing.
7. Proof of Identity
Provide acceptable identification, such as:
- A valid driver’s license or state-issued ID that was issued more than six months ago.
- A previously issued U.S. passport.
A damaged, altered, or mutilated passport should not be used as proof of identity.
Additional requirements apply to minors.
If your legal name has changed, additional documentation may also be required, such as an original or certified marriage certificate or court-issued name change decree.
8. Provide Additional Copies
In addition to the documents placed in the sealed envelope, provide separate copies of the following:
- Passport application
- Letter of Authorization
- Travel itinerary
- Passport photo
- Proof of identity and/or citizenship
Important: Keep these additional copies outside the sealed envelope.
9. Provide Proof of Travel
Acceptable proof of travel may include:
- A copy of an airline ticket showing international travel.
- A travel itinerary displaying the applicant’s name, travel dates, and flight information.
- For qualifying business travel when the above documents are unavailable, a letter from the applicant’s employer.
For 4–7 and 7–10 business day passport processing, a reservation is required and the travel date must fall within 14 days of the reservation date. If a visa will also be needed after the passport is issued, the travel date should be approximately 30 days from the reservation date.
10. Government Fees
Government fees are not included in our service fee and must be paid separately.
Applicable U.S. Department of State fees depend on the applicant’s age and selected processing service. The appropriate government fee should be confirmed before submitting your application.
For expedited passport services:
- Applicants age 16 and older: U.S. Department of State fee of $213.36
- Applicants under age 16: U.S. Department of State fee of $183.36
For services with longer processing times:
- 3-week service: U.S. Department of State fee of $190.00

Who Is Eligible?
Passport renewal may be available to U.S. citizens who:
- Currently have their most recent undamaged U.S. passport.
- Were at least 16 years old when that passport was issued.
- Received the passport less than 15 years ago.
- Have not changed their legal name, or can provide acceptable documentation supporting the name change.

4. Passport Photos
Provide the required passport photos taken within the last six months. Photos must be 2 x 2 inches and comply with applicable passport photo requirements. Eyeglasses should not be worn.
5. Submit Your Most Recent Passport
Your previous passport should:
- Be undamaged.
- Have been issued within the last 15 years.
- Have been issued when you were at least 16 years old.
Your previous passport will be returned after processing.
6. Travel Itinerary
Proof of travel is required for applicable expedited processing options and may include:
- An international airline ticket.
- An itinerary showing your name, travel dates, and flight information.
- A qualifying employer letter for business travel.
For expedited services requiring imminent travel, your departure date must fall within the applicable travel window.
7. Passport Card
If you currently possess a passport card, it must be submitted with your passport book when required, even if you are not requesting renewal of the card.

Important: The minor must appear in person. Both parents or legal guardians generally must accompany the child and provide acceptable identification.
If only one parent can attend, additional documentation may be required, including a properly completed and notarized Statement of Consent (Form DS 3053) and/or a Statement of Family Special Circumstances. A parent with sole legal custody must provide appropriate original documentation establishing that authority.
Step 2: Meet With the Acceptance Agent
The Acceptance Agent will:
- Verify the relationship between the parent(s)/guardian(s) and child.
- Witness the required signatures.

5. Passport Photos
Provide the required recent passport photos. They must have been taken within the last six months, measure 2 x 2 inches, and comply with passport photo requirements.
6. Proof of the Child's U.S. Citizenship
Acceptable documentation may include:
- An original U.S. birth certificate.
- A previous undamaged U.S. passport.
- An original Certificate of Naturalization, when applicable.
Original citizenship documents will be returned after processing.
7. Proof of Relationship to the Child
Acceptable documentation may include:
- An original U.S. birth certificate listing the parents.
- A certified foreign birth certificate listing the parents, accompanied by an appropriate translation.
- A Consular Report of Birth Abroad.
- Applicable Certification of Birth Abroad documentation.
- An adoption decree identifying the adoptive parents.
- A court order establishing custody or guardianship.
8. Parent or Guardian Identification
Parents or guardians should provide acceptable current identification, such as:
- A valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
- A valid U.S. passport.
- A current government or military ID.
Copies of the required identification for both parents should accompany the documents when applicable.
If a parent or guardian has legally changed their name, supporting documentation such as a certified marriage certificate or court-issued name change decree may be required.

4. Submit Your Current Valid Passport
Your primary passport may need to accompany your application. If it is approaching expiration, you may need to renew it before requesting a second passport.
When renewing an existing second passport, different submission requirements may apply. The Department of State may request your primary passport when necessary.

By placing an order with The Passport Station, you acknowledge and agree that all service and expediting fees paid to The Passport Station are non-refundable once services have been initiated or performed.
The Passport Station is a private, third-party passport expediting and assistance service and is not responsible for processing delays, additional requirements, decisions, or processing times imposed by the U.S. Department of State or other government agencies.
Estimated processing times are provided for general guidance and are not guaranteed. Delays caused by government agencies, incomplete or incorrect applicant information, missing documentation, shipping carriers, or circumstances outside of The Passport Station’s control do not qualify for a refund of our service fees.
Government Fees
U.S. Department of State fees are separate from The Passport Station’s service and expediting fees. Government fees are not included unless specifically stated during checkout. Any government fees, execution fees, shipping charges, or other third-party costs are subject to the policies of the organization or provider collecting those fees.
Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and timely information and documentation. Failure to submit required documents or follow application instructions may result in delays and does not qualify for a refund of The Passport Station’s service fees.
